Arias intensity attenuation relationship in Sichuan–Yunnan region, China

Arias intensity is an essential ground motion measure correlating with the potential for earthquake-induced landslides. The Sichuan–Yunnan region, which primarily mountainous, a high incidence region of landslides in China. However, there no available attenuation relationship this due to backward construction stations. In study, we developed region-specific using China Strong-Motion Networks Center (CSMNC) database was established 2008. We recommend be applied moment magnitudes ranging between 4.2 and 7.0, distances 0 300 km Vs30 (the average shear-wave velocity upper 30 m soil profile) 128 760 m/s. current study finds that relationship’s intra-event, inter-event, total standard deviations are greater than other regions. This likely caused by complicated seismotectonic activities, nonlinear site effects, error from inferring Vs30, basin etc. has best performance fitting predicting data region.
